Child Therapist

REPORTS TO: Clinical Director

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY: For over 40 years, Bethesda has been Oklahoma's only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to treating and preventing childhood sexual abuse. Core to our mission is the belief that there should be no barriers to a child's healing, which is why we do not charge for services or bill any insurance, including Medicaid and Soonercare. Our clinical team provides high-quality, trauma-informed care for abuse survivors and their non-offending family members utilizing a diverse range of therapeutic modalities.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position facilitates group and individual therapy sessions for clients ages 3-10 yrs. old; facilitates psychoeducational learning through a 10 week curriculum focused on body safety education; facilitates group therapy for survivors of sexual abuse. Therapists work closely with the rest of the clinical team to coordinate efforts for the sustained healing of the child at home.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead therapist for 1-2 child therapy groups per week;

  • Provide individual, group and family therapy treatment as required;

  • Conduct Intakes;

  • Complete and monitor case management activities related to assigned clients;

  • Collaborate with staff and interns regarding program activities; i.e. cotherapeutic work, parent groups, individual therapy, treatment planning;

  • Communicate monthly with assigned DHS case workers;

  • Serve as child advocate in court as needed;

  • Attend weekly staffing and consultation;

  • Stay current regarding innovations/programs in treatment of child sexual abuse;

  • Participate as active and positive member of agency clinical team;

  • Attend on-going training to maintain license;

  • Perform other duties, including special projects, as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Hold a minimum of Master’s degree in a mental health related field;

  • Must hold a license as LCSW or LPC, or be license-eligible and maintain license requirements;

Compensation:

  • $45,000 - $50,000 salary*
